How they help your pet

  • THE IMPORTANCE OF PET ORAL HEALTH

Our pets explore so much of their worlds through their mouths. Whether they're tucking into din-dins or nibbling something they shouldn't, giving them a helping hand along the way with some tasty dental treats will help to keep their teeth and gums in great condition.

After all, dental disease is the most common health condition in cats* and 85 % of dogs have dental problems by the age of three**. This can be painful for them, not to mention painful for you when the vet bill lands! And it’s so easily preventable, too.

So what should your pet's mouth look like when it's healthy? Well, for starters, their breath shouldn't knock your socks off! Their teeth should be clean in appearance without any tartar build up (plaque which has hardened on their teeth). This can look yellow or brown.

If you have any concerns about your pet’s pearly whites, don’t hesitate to speak to your vet.

  • SIGNS OF DENTAL PROBLEMS IN PETS

If your pet has dental issues, you might notice the following symptoms:

    • Halitosis (bad breath)

    • Buildup of plaque and tartar

    • Red, inflamed or bleeding gums

    • Pain or difficulty eating i.e. chewing on one side of the mouth

    • Weight loss

    • Wobbly, broken or missing teeth

    • Excessive drooling

    • Preferring soft food

Just like with us humans, dental issues can be very painful so if you notice any of these symptoms in your dog or cat, follow up with your vet right away.

  • BENEFITS OF TAKING CARE OF YOUR PET’S TEETH

Looking after your pet’s teeth is a great first step in helping to reduce their risk of dental trouble, including possible infection. Here are some of the benefits of dog and cat teeth cleaning:

    • Reduces the buildup of plaque and tartar

    • Reduces the risk of gingivitis and gum disease

    • Freshens their breath

    • Gives you a good opportunity to identify issues at an earlier stage i.e. cracked or missing teeth

    • Proactively taking care of your pet’s teeth could save you money on dental treatment in the future

  • HOW MANY ITCH DENTAL TREATS CAN I GIVE MY PET PER DAY?

Our treats are complementary and should be given in moderation alongside a normal complete diet. It’s great to get into the habit of regularly monitoring your pet’s weight. Yes, absolutely! Treat your cat or dog to these treats for a gob so fresh, every smooch will be a pleasure.

  • ARE THE POUCHES RECYCLABLE?

We’re proud to say that our new and improved pouches are 100% recyclable, ink included! They can be recycled at large supermarkets, or check your local council for kerbside recycling. Head to the Recycle Now site to find your closest recycling point.

This means, with your help, we'll be reducing the enormous amount of packaging that ends up where it shouldn't - in landfill, our environment and our oceans.

When the pouch is empty, simply wash it out and pop it along to your local large store, where they can be recycled along with other bags. Find your nearest here

You might not see this change immediately. We're reducing food and packaging waste by introducing the new pouches over the next few months. When you receive one, please do let us know what you think.

  • IS THE DELIVERY PACKAGING RECYCLABLE?

Your goodies will arrive either in a cardboard box which can be recycled at home and is made of recycled materials or our brand-new mailer bags which are made from Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and contain recycled materials. They’re fully recyclable, waterproof, strong, and of course – still personalised!

Our new bags are much smaller in size and weight than the cardboard boxes which means that we can fit more packages in our courier’s lorries. This means they have a more efficient  journey to your doorstep, reducing our carbon footprint as well as consumer waste. You can recycle them at your local supermarket - find your nearest here
