  • WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF CAT STRESS?

Cats can be sensitive and there are a whole range of factors which can contribute to cat stress. This can include:

Changes to their environment or home
Our cats are definitely creatures of habit and changes within their home can be a cause of stress. This could include things such as having guests over, decorating and moving furniture or the introduction of a new pet/baby.

    Being given too much attention
Some cats love a fussing, but others, not so much. If your kitty is naturally a little more aloof, being given a lot of attention in the form of being followed, stroked or picked up can be very stressful. Even more so if your cat feels unable to get away easily.

    Fireworks
As we all know, this isn’t just an issue on Bonfire Night. They can go off all year round with various celebrations taking place, although the main season can extend from October through to New Year. It’s not uncommon for cats to find the sight and sound of fireworks distressing.

    Threats to their territory
Is there a new puss in the neighbourhood? If they're encroaching on your cat's territory and marking, this can be quite a stressful experience for your cat. This may trigger a fight or flight response which is associated with high levels of anxiety. Depending on the nature of your cat, they may try to fight off this new intruder or submit.

    Visits to the vet
This is a common cause of cat stress and won't come as a surprise to many cat parents. From resisting getting in their carrier, wailing en-route and crouching low with their belly on the examination table, these are just some of the many ways our cats express their displeasure of having to go to the vet. It could also have something to do with where the vet puts the thermometer...

  • WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF CAT STRESS?

If your cat is stressed, you may notice the following signs:

    • Scratching furniture

    • Urine marking

    • Puffing up their fur to appear larger

    • Vocalising - growling, hissing, wailing

    • Crouching with their belly low to the floor

    • Dilated pupils

    • Becoming withdrawn or trying to hide away

    • Engaging less with humans

    • Eating and drinking less

    • Overeating

    • Vomiting or diarrhoea

This isn't an exhaustive list, nor are these exclusively signs of stress. If you notice any of these changes and you're concerned about your cat's health and wellbeing, please speak to your vet.

vet approved!

A feline pheromone diffuser is a great choice for anxious cats, especially those displaying stressed behaviours such as over grooming or urine marking. The ease of a plug-in alleviates further stress caused by physically medicating. That's why Chill Out is a great alternative to drug therapy and will reassure your cat they are in a calm, safe environment.

FAQs

  • HOW DOES IT WORK?

Pheromones are chemical signals that are used between animals of the same species as a means of communication. Our Chill Out diffuser contains a drug-free formula which mimics natural calming pheromones that are sure to have your puss feeling safe, happy and relaxed.

Simply plug your diffuser into the wall socket of the room your cat hangs out in the most and say fur-well to disruptive behaviour, including urine marking, scratching and conflict with other pets!

  • HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO WORK?

After plugging in your Chill Out diffuser you should notice your feline friend’s catitude reduce after just 2-3 days!

  • WILL PHEROMONES AFFECT PEOPLE OR OTHER ANIMALS IN MY HOUSE?

There is currently no evidence to suggest that Chill Out will have any effect on your other furry friends or us humans. We are, however, working on a Chill Out diffuser for your canine friends too – watch this space!

  • ARE THERE ANY ADVERSE SIDE EFFECTS?

Our Chill Out diffusers are both vet recommended and drug-free so your furry sidekick should not experience any adverse side effects. We have also ensured that they are safe to use with other forms of treatment, as well as other calming supplements. However, if you do notice any unwanted side effects after using Chill Out, please do contact our team of pet wellness experts as soon as possible so we can provide you with the best advice for your pet.

  • WHERE SHOULD I PLUG THE DIFFUSER IN?

Simply plug in directly into the wall socket of the room your cat hangs out, or problem areas (where issues occur most often) and your cat’s uncool behaviour should begin to Chill Out after just 2-3 days. Be sure to leave a minimum of 1.2 metres above the diffuser to prevent any liquid evaporating onto your surfaces or furniture.

  • HOW LONG SHOULD A REFILL LAST?

Each refill will last for one month. Subscribe and we’ll send you a fresh refill each month when your previous one is getting low!

  • IS THE DIFFUSER RECYCLABLE?

Your Chill Out diffuser packaging and leaflet are both recyclable. The refill plastic bottle and plug-in diffuser however must be recycled at your local WEEE recycling centre. We aim to protect the environment as well as your feline friends.

  • HOW DOES YOUR SAT-ITCH-FACTION GUARANTEE WORK?

After using our calming pheromone diffuser, we're pawsitive your cat will be more chilled out than a bedtime story by David Attenborough. So confident in fact, we'll refund you if that’s not the case. After 28 days, you’ll have a week to get your money back. T&Cs apply.

  • WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BUILDING A PET WELLNESS PLAN?

Our pet wellness plans are tailored to your pet’s unique needs! After answering a few short questions about your pet, we’ll be able to recommend a personalised plan packed full of vet-approved products to keep your furry friend in tip-top shape.
