Can I crush my dog's worming tablet?

Yes, you can sometimes crush your dog’s worming tablet, but it depends on the specific medication. Some worming tablets are safe to crush and mix with food, while others are designed to be swallowed whole for proper absorption. Crushing certain tablets could make them less effective or increase the chance of side effects. If your dog refuses to take the tablet, check the wormer packaging to see if it can be safely crushed or if an alternative form is available, such as a chewable, liquid, or spot-on treatment.
We'd recommend crushing your dog's worming tablet with the back of a spoon and then sprinkling it over their find. To make worming easier, you can also hide tablets in treats like cheese, peanut butter, or special pill pockets.
