COMPOSITION
Our Bum Bags are plastic free! They're made from Mater-Bi® - a plant-based plastic. This has been created by renowned experts, with cornstarch and plant oils from EU grown, GMO-free maize. No palm or soya products here, and definitely no virgin soil or deforestation involved either. Even the ink on our biodegradable poop bags is compostable (yes, really!). This is solvent-free and water based.

OUR ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY MANUFACTURING PROCESS
Our compostable poo bags are green, both physically and environmentally! Our manufacturing facility uses 100% renewable energy (coastal wind power) and the factory is certified zero emissions and zero waste. All water used in the process is recirculated and any bag waste from production is re-melted and reused. And even our packaging is planet-friendly. It all receives the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) stamp of approval.

BIOPOLYMER PLASTICS VS PETROLEUM PLASTICS
Bum Bags are made from biopolymer plastics which is a plant-based plastic made from renewable resources. Bio plastics are derived from plant or vegetable sources such as corn and sugar, i.e. good plastics!
More traditional, non-environmentally friendly plastics like petroleum plastics are produced from non-renewable, oil or gas-based resources. These are bad plastics!

DO BUM BAGS HAVE A BEST BEFORE DATE?
Compostable bags are made with plant extracts and are naturally biodegradable, so they’ll need a little more care than ordinary plastic bags.
Please keep your Bum Bags in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. When stored with care, our compostable poo bags will last up to 12 months.

HOW THICK ARE YOUR POO BAGS?
Bum Bags are 15 microns thick, making them your hands' best friend. No “Oh, sh*t”, brown-fingered moments here!

HOW MANY INDIVIDUAL BAGS ARE INCLUDED ON EACH ROLL, AND HOW MANY ROLLS INCLUDED IN EACH BOX?
There are 25 bags on each roll, and 4 rolls included within each box.

DO BUM BAGS HAVE HANDLES?
Our biodegradable poo bags are handle-free. This is how we’ve ensured our Bum Bags are as cost effective as possible at just 6p per bag. Don’t worry though, they’re spacious enough to accommodate even a Great Dane booty deposit, with plenty of space to tie the sides together at the top.

Bum Bags are biodegradable & compostable, plus the box is made from FSC wood. This can be disposed of in your household green bin.

HOW SHOULD I DISPOSE OF BUM BAGS?
Our biodegradable poo bags are made from corn starch and are therefore home compostable. Having said that; it’s best to limit their use to non-edible plants (for obvious reasons!). They can also be binned with organic matter as they will begin to break down once exposed to oxygen, with zero microplastics left in their wake.

HOW LONG DO BUM BAGS TAKE TO DECOMPOSE?
The time taken for our biodegradable poo bags to decompose will vary depending on how they are disposed of. In industrial composting, the bag will break down very quickly. Home composting may take slightly longer. Whichever way you look at it, it’s considerably quicker than the time it takes for a plastic dog poo bag to break down. This process can literally take hundreds of years :(
