If you’re reading this, chances are that you’ve hoovered the carpets a thousand times, bathed your pet until he's eyeing you up suspiciously, sprayed every corner of the house, and yet - they are still scratching. Here’s why your fleas aren’t disappearing!
First up, fleas aren’t just hopping about waiting to be squashed. They’ve got a whole little life story going on—eggs, larvae, pupae, adults—and each stage is trickier than the last.
You might kill the adults you can see but the eggs and pupae are lurking, just waiting to hatch. They can lie dormant in carpets, cracks, and bedding for weeks, even months, until the conditions are right—like when they sense warmth or movement. So you think they’re gone, and boom—they’re back. Like tiny, itchy ninjas.
This means you need flea treatment that doesn’t just kill the fleas on your pet, but kills flea eggs and larvae too. Itch Flea treatment for cats and Itch Flea treatment for dogs does this and gets to work in just 24 hours!
Even if you’re treating your cat or dog regularly, are you doing every pet in the house? Fleas will jump from cats to dogs, anything that is warm-blooded.
Also, treating the animal alone isn’t enough. Around 95% of a flea infestation isn’t even on your pet, it’s in your home. Flea eggs drop off into the carpet, soft furnishings, or that pile of laundry you keep promising to fold. If you’re not treating the environment as well as the pets, you’re fighting a losing battle. Treat your home in one go with Itch Flea House Spray which kills adult fleas in your home for up to 2 months and stops flea eggs from developing for 12 months.
It’s worth knowing that not all flea treatments are created equal. To stop a flea infestation, your flea treatment needs more than just Fipronil (an active ingredient that kills adult fleas on your pet), it needs the active ingredient, S-Methoprene to stop the development of flea eggs and break the flea life cycle.
Itch Flea treatment for cats and dogs combines active ingredients Fipronil and S-Methoprene to provide vet-strength protection from fleas.
One application of flea treatment and washing your pet isn’t going to cut it. Fleas are stubborn little sods.
Wash all pet bedding on a high heat (60 degrees or above!).
Vacuum daily (especially around skirting boards and under furniture). Remember to empty the hoover immediately in an outside bin.
Apply flea treatment to your pet for at least three months. Consistency is key to keeping fleas away for good!
